POLICY CHANGE EFFECTIVE 1/1/2026:
Please be aware that residents with residential trash service are still entitled to 2 free bulky pickups per calendar year, but free pickups will now ONLY take place the first full week of February, May, August, and November. The 2026 Trash & Recycling Pickup Schedule also shows free pickup weeks available for bulky waste.
Bulky waste pickups will only occur during these scheduled times. Placing bulky waste curbside outside of these timeframes is strictly prohibited. If pickup is needed outside of the scheduled timeframes residents may still schedule a pickup directly with Casella/Willimantic Waste for $300 plus landfill tipping fees.
The Transfer Station, located at 73 Rogers Rd, is open for usual business. Residents are welcome to dispose of residential bulky waste and residential trash at the Transfer Station. Their hours of operation are Monday-Friday 8 am - 2:45 pm and Saturday 8 am - 12:45 pm.
Residents MUST still call Casella Waste Systems/Willimantic Waste at 860-423-4527 to schedule bulky waste pickups as they are not automatic.
