The Norwich Prevention Council works to prevent risky behavior among Norwich youth.
Our members are a community collaboration designed to:
Build local capacity to provide programs and opportunities for youth.
Promote education and training regarding tobacco, alcohol, drugs and other risky behavior.
Identify the needs of at risk youth
Provide information and referral services
Promote the development of prevention, treatment, and community mobilization services.
The Prevention Council activities may take many forms: Environmental:
Preventing sales of tobacco and alcoholic beverages to minors
Enforcement and public policy changes
Community Based Processes:
Data collection and research
Assessing community needs
Health Fairs and Health Promotions
Speaking engagements and media campaigns
Parenting/Family Management Services
